If you are an educator

Early childhood, primary / elementary, middle school, high school, tertiary education

and you

Are interested in learning how you can best support your autistic students

You are in the right place.

Did you know?

The Psychology Board of Australia - that's the regulating body for psychologists in Australia - has released competencies making neuro-affirming practices a requirement for psychologists from 2025.

If the Psychology Board of Australia have introduced this competency, it’s reasonable to expect that the regulating bodies for other professions will follow.

My name is Valli Jones

I'm an autistic clinical psychologist, and I work with neurodivergent young people.

My goal is to improve the mental health of autistic young people by equipping parents, teachers, and health professionals with a framework for providing truly neuro-affirming supports.

I'm excited to share it with you.

And I have an early bird offer for teachers.

But first...

What is The Safe House Framework®?

Put very simply, it's a way to organise your thinking around how to best support your autistic students.

The Neurodiversity Movement is a human rights movement.

The neuro-affirming approach is a set of principles and practices that centre and uphold the rights of neurodivergent humans.

The Safe House Framework® guides the implementation of affirming principles and practices.

The training for educators is part of a system for collaboration.

There is a Safe House Framework® program for each member of a young person’s team, and the programs are designed to complement each other, and facilitate meaningful collaboration.

So what’s inside The Safe House for Educators?

There are two levels within the program.

Level One introduces framework for nurturing and supporting autistic young people, using the simple analogy of building a safe house around a child.

Over 8 modules, you will develop a deep and nuanced understanding of the autistic experience, through the lens of the neurodiversity paradigm.

Contains just over 4 hours of video, 7 case studies, and a 100+ page workbook

One of the big ideas in Level One is understanding how the autistic nervous system is different, and why safety is so important.

Here's a quick overview.

Level two is where I show you how we apply the framework.

It's full of step-by-step practical guidance, so there’s no guesswork.

The what, why, and how are all laid out.

Contains 2 hours of video, a self-assessment process, and a 40+ page workbook.

Beyond the practical steps, there is a lot

introspection and reflection.

I'll help you get clear on what you bring to your relationships with your neurodivergent students, both naturally, and by design.

This is the internal work of a paradigm shift.

It's everything I've learned about establishing psychological safety for autistic young people.

Because safety is the essence of affirming care.
